I have been SUFFERING from SEVERE cramps the past two days... NOTHING ELSE WORKS!!!!!!!! WHY DISCONTINUE SOMETHING THAT WORKS?!!!! Classify it as a prescription drug if people use it incorrectly - but please bring it back for us who TRULY NEED IT!! Buscopan DOESN'T work, neither does CHLOROPECT nor is KEM-O-DENE as effective in the relief of cramps associated with a tummy bug!!! Please help!!

I left totally speechless that this product has been discontinued. I contacted Johnson & Johnson today and this is the response:

"We must advise that this product has been discontinued and is no longer available on the South African Market. We no longer have the manufacturing capability to produce a formulation that meets ever increasing quality and safety standards. This decision was taken after considerable review and discussion and we regret any disappointment that it’s discontinuation may cause.

Johnson & Johnson have been producing quality products that have been trusted by generations of South Africans for more than 80 years. We continually review our product range and will happily take your details and contact you should we ever introduce an alternative product to Chamberlains."

Chamberlains is off the market because the man who made this product died and went to the grave with his ingredients this is no longer manufactured at all so far i have heard that a place in East London still has a few bottles available

One simple straight forward product at a reasonable price that really works has now been taken off the market, is just another way to screw the everyday citizen. well done Mr corporate again. I urge everybody not to use any of there other products

Can we not start a group asking for the reinstatement of this much loved product?
It was seriously one of the only products that made you feel better, almost instantly. We in South Africa seem to accept everything so easily, we bitch and moan without making any effort to change things ... we should be putting our hands up and voice our opinions!

We've used this product for years, how can they discontinue such good product

I grew up with Chamberlains, and used it for period pains. Nothing the doctors subscribed worked like chamberlains. Now my daugter has the same experience, and it is no longer available. Can we import it? Is there still avaiable in other countries? Please help, this was realy and truly the only thing that helped.

Please notify us why it is no longer possible to obtain Chamberlains. Yes I have read the rumors etc. but would like to know if they are not merely changing the packaging or are in short supply.

Chamberlains is the only! product that makes you feel better almost instantly. This product has been in our household for many years.We have a miniature Maltese Poodle who suffers from cramps on a regular basis and taking her to the Vet every time is very costly so our last resort was to use Chamberlains and boy! did this work quickly. Please bring this wonderful product back.

PLEASE PLEASE what can we do to get this product back. I spoke to the company in the Cape who manufacture it last year this time (June/july 2010). They released their new tested/improved product (Chamberlain colic) just after that - how can it be discontinued now???? It's really been used in our family for over 60 years now!!! The only instant remedy for cramps!!!

Guys and Gals there is a product called Kem-O-Dene, available from all pharmacys that does pretty much the same job as chamberlains.

It doesn't work as quickly but it does the job. Give it a try.

Please is there no other product with same ingredients as Chamberlains Colic remedy? This was the best product on the market. I have tried chem o dene but my stomache is too sensitive. Please let me know. I've heard that government was behind the discontinue of this product because some idiots used it in some form of illegal drug. But I believe that everything that works gets stopped in our country. I don't believe in generic medicine at all. I rather pay the price for something I know that will work. Even original medicine's are hard to obtain in South Africa.

I am now 71 this is one of the good products I recommend to people because when my stomach was upset most of the times it helped.

I have been struggling to get Chamberlains Cholic.After eating or drinking too much , the only thing that works immediately is this wonder product.If it is about drugs, i have enough money to buy illegal drugs and i do not do drugs at all.Bring it back immediately.

My baby has very bad tummy bug. Chamberlains was the only thing that works immediately so he can rest. Please please please bring it back!

I am sooo sick at this moment. I remember as a child my mother giving me Chamberlains and i would feel better instantly. Now that I need it, I cant find it anywhere. Is there nothing we can do to have it reissued on the Market? All South Africans need this product more than anything else stoopid we get here. :(

Chamberlain's Colic Remedy was the only remedy that worked for cramps and within minutes of taking it. It has been used by my family for generations and I am aghast that it has been discontinued. It is totally irreplaceable. Isn't it astonishing how everything that actually worked back in the day has been replaced by useless, worthless crap.

WHy oh why is Chamberlain's Colic Remedy no longer sold in SA??? Because it worked so well?! My grandparents, parents and myself grew up with it and I raised my children, ALWAYS having a bottle in the house! Chamberlains colic has been discontinued, there is an replacement for it , but take my word it's not remotely the same. Boererate is the best!!!!!!!!! BRING IT BACK
