Dresplan also helps to decrease muscle spasms of the bladder. Dresplan warnings Before taking oxybutynin, tell your doctor and pharmacist if you are allergic to this medicine or any other drugs. Also tell your doctor and pharmacist what prescription and non prescription medications you are taking, especially diuretics ("water pills"), lithium (Eskalith, Lithobid), medications for high blood pressure, potassium supplements, and vitamins. The doctor should be informed: if there had been any heart, liver, kidney, or stomach disease; glaucoma; colitis; an enlarged prostate; intestinal disease or obstruction; an overactive thyroid gland; or Myasthenia gravis.In case of pregnancy, or if you are planning to become pregnant, or even if you are breast-feeding or if you are having surgery, including dental surgery, tell the doctor or dentist that you are taking oxybutynin. Dresplan side effects The following side effects may be experienced: dry mouth, sensitivity to bright light, blurred vision, dry eyes, decreased sweating, flushing, upset stomach, drowsiness. Dresplan overdose In case of this drug overdose, call your local poison control center. In case of a missed Dresplan dose, take it as soon as you remember it. However, if it is almost time for the next oxybutynin dose, skip the missed Dresplan dose and continue your regular Dresplan dosing schedule. Do not take a double Dresplan dose to make up for a missed one. Dresplan usage guidelines This medicine is usually taken with water on an empty stomach, at least 2 hours after or 1 hour before meals. However, your doctor may want you to take Dresplan with food or milk to lessen stomach upset. Keep Dresplan tightly closed in the container it came in, and out of reach of children. This medication should be stored at room temperature and away from excess heat and moisture (not in the bathroom). Throw away any Dresplan medication that is outdated or no longer needed. Talk to your pharmacist about the proper disposal of your oxybutynin medication.
