I was wondering if you can let me know if EFFEXOR L.P. is the same medication as EFEXOR XL?

I have always been on EFEXOR XL,but have recently been given EFFEXOR LP, which to me is a different medication , but my pharmasist assures me its exactly the same but in different packaging.

    Could you please confirm?
    Many Thanks
