Levoflox works by fighting bacteria in the body. Levoflox Indications Levoflox is primarily used in treating various types of bacterial infections in the body. Levoflox may also be used for purposes other than those indicated here in this guide. Levoflox Warnings Levoflox may not be suitable if you have the following conditions: Kidney disease A seizure disorder A heart condition known as prolongation of the QT interval A slow heart rate that is considered a medical condition Low levels of potassium in your blood You may not be able to take Levoflox, may require dosage adjustments or may need special monitoring during treatment if you have any of the preceding conditions. Levoflox may also not be suitable for you if you are being treated for heart rhythm disturbances with drugs such as quinidine, procainamide, Amiodarone, sotalol, and others. Levoflox belongs to the FDA pregnancy category C, which means that it is not known whether Levoflox will be harmful or can cause defects to an unborn baby. Do not take Levoflox without your doctor's approval if you are pregnant or planning to be pregnant during treatment. It is also not known whether Levoflox passes into breast milk, although similar drugs are known to affect bone development of infants. Do not take Levoflox without your doctor's consent if you are breast-feeding a baby. Levoflox may interfere with bone development. For this reason, Levoflox is not approved for use by children under the age of 18 years. Levoflox Intake Guidelines Levoflox should be taken exactly as directed by your doctor. If there are matters that you do not understand, refer to your doctor, pharmacist or nurse and ask him or her to explain those matters to you. Take each dose of Levoflox with 8 ounces or a full glass of water. Levoflox may be taken with or without food. Levoflox should be taken at evenly spaced intervals. Make sure to follow all of your doctor's instructions while taking Levoflox to ensure the maximum effects of the product. Levoflox Dosage Dosage of Levoflox should be obtained from your doctor. Dosage may vary from person to person with regards to a variety of factors such as age, severity of condition and others. Do not take in more or less of Levoflox so as not to alter its effects and to prevent overdose. Levoflox Overdose Symptoms of overdose of Levoflox include seizures. If you experience seizures and have taken in more of Levoflox than prescribed, you may be experiencing overdose. Seek immediate medical attention or call poison control. Inform your doctor afterwards. Levoflox Missed Dose Doses of Levoflox should not be missed. If a dose is missed, however, take it as soon as remembered. Levoflox Side Effects Levoflox may have any of the following serious side effects and allergic reactions: Difficulty breathing Closing of the throat Swelling of the lips, face, or tongue Hives Muscle or joint pain Liver damage characterized by yellowing of the skin or eyes Seizures Hallucinations or severe confusion Irregular heartbeats, chest pain, or fainting. If you experience any of these symptoms, discontinue using Levoflox and inform your doctor immediately. Levoflox may also have less serious side effects that are more likely to occur. They include the following: Drowsiness, dizziness, or clumsiness Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, or constipation Insomnia Drowsiness Ringing of the ears Sensitivity to sunlight If you experience any of these side effects, continue using the product but inform your doctor immediately. Other side effects may also occur when you take Levoflox. Inform your doctor if you experience anything unusual while or after taking Levoflox. Levoflox Drug Reactions Levoflox may react with the following drugs: Antacids Theophylline Warfarin Insulin or an oral diabetes medication A nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug Other drugs my also interact with Levoflox. Inform your doctor if you are taking any medications other than Levoflox such as vitamins, minerals, and even herbal products.
