Jeff 01 Nov 2008, 19:27
The manufacturer of Nik+Aid stopped making it. Here's their explanation as
to why:
Dear Jeff, Thank you for your inquiry and your kind comments regarding Nik+Aid . Unfortunately The U.S. FDA has changed the requirements on the OTC category that Nik+Aid falls under and they have asked us to prove (via clinical trials), that Nik+Aid meets its claim to "stop bleeding fast". The time off the market that it would have taken and the expense involved were beyond our budget. Therefore a decision was made almost 3 years ago to discontinue. Unfortunately we do not have any inventory left and I don't know of any retailer anywhere that does. I'm truly sorry for the inconvenience this has caused. I have saved your email and you will be contacted if we find a way to bring it back to market. While we are still approved in Canada, our market penetration was not big enough at the time of the FDA's request to make up the volume needed to make the product viable. We are looking for an entity with deeper pockets and resources than ours who wants to pick up where we left off. If you or an entity you know of has an interest we'd be happy to talk. Thank you again. Sincerely, Steve Cohen Leib Research scohen@leib.com 201-785-9419-T 201-825-6998-F

Like everyone else writing here, I too thought "NIK AID" was the best thing
out there. I also would greatly appreciate the chance to buy this product
again should it ever become available. Please keep me informed if "NIK
AID" hits the market again. Thank you.
Ann Speck 15 Jan 2009, 06:02
I have had this little product for so long, I don't even know how long, but
I am holding it now. I just used it to stop bleeding on a scratched place
on my skin. After searching everywhere, with no luck, I now read where the
FDA stopped this superior product. Isn't that just like big
government-squelch the working people who have something good. Too bad, for
this is one thing that worked instantly without any worry of showing! How
sad!! I wonder if the Mormon Church is Salt Lake City might be interested
in this project?? Might be worth a try. Thanks so much!! Sorry that it is
not available.

Please include me on any available updates on your product. Maybe if those
interested in it would come forth with testimonials or volunteer to be part
of the testing process it would help........ I will !!
I used this product not only for shaving cuts but also for minor cuts and scrapes, some which were bleeding nicely and even then preceded by brief direct pressure and immediate liberal application the bleeding stopped and the wounds healed without a hint of infection or needing further treatment of any kind. Although I do not intend to injure or harm anyone much less induce anyone else to do so, I would think that the FDA itself be required to prove thier own worth based on the number of product that are not banned but are off the market because they also could not afford to endure the test processes required financially, even though like your product are not banned in other countries as well as the miriad of products and procedures banned here not so much because of product/procedure performance but maybe because someone in the government directly or indirectly responsibe for the FDA funding has been influenced by a lobby, the AMA or other scum sucking org. at the ultimate expense of the users who serve to gain benefit and comfort from the use of your product. Thanks for your product and please never give in, add some aloe to it and change the name to Geo. Washingtons Secret Magic Potion and sell it as a religous item used by countless Christians, Hindus, Muslims, Jews and the occasional athiest in testiment of the precepts of humanity by which "In God We Trust", prohibited by the laws of nature any type of extraneous interferance which would result in the infestation of the hairy parts of their bodies by a never ending reproducing family of vampire lice which are only curable by one of the FDA banned products no longer in production with future production outlawed by the family of man!! Thanks for the product folks!!

i loved NIK AID... zip 29650 ... is it available anywhere?
Richard Gouttiere 24 Jan 2009, 00:01
Boo Hoo. Nik-Aid no mre. (WITH SARCASM) "Thanks U S A government for
pulling this wonderful product off the market". To para-phrase, " BEST
THING SINCE SLICED BREAD". Hopefully our new administration will lift the
ban and this very popular item will be back on the shelves. Please advise
me on updates on your product. Maybe if enough of us interested in it would
come forth with accolades it would help. Count me in.
Jim Jamrog 26 Jan 2009, 15:07
Nik Aid is a great product that I have used for over 10 yrs and I will use

I want my Nik-Aid. It's not just for shaving anymore. At the first hint of
a cold sore, I'd apply it. It would dry it out before it would blister up.
Problem solved.
William 20 Feb 2009, 23:47
I am positive that this is the best septic that Ihae ever used. If you or
anybody else starts making Nik+Aid, pleasebe sure to let me know as I would
be glad to purchase it.

Wayne 03 Mar 2009, 00:15
Nik+Aid is the best product I have ever used for stopping bleeding from
shaving nicks. Isn't it just like the FDA to force something good off the
market! I, too, would like to be put on the list to be notified if/when
this product should become available again.
Marc 28 Mar 2009, 03:53
Like you guys, I have had the same container of nik aid for years. I think
the FDA should ask us. The product worked. Through searching, I found
something similar on Shopzilla, it is called Nik Relief Liquid, under the
heading Styptic Liquid (Blister) I am going to corder some to see if works.
Good luck all
Wayne 30 Apr 2009, 23:55
I am aware that nik+aid is discontinued in the US but I still can't find a
retailer that handles this product in Vancouver BC Canada. My postal code
is V3J7C8. I would appreciate the retailers so I can pick up some more of
this great product.
thanks in advance.
Charlie 10 May 2009, 23:59
I would also like to find nik+aid again as it is surperior to anything else
I have ever used
Ivan 22 May 2009, 04:22
Why can't the government leave companies like this alone? Nik+Aid was the
only product that I could ever find that worked like it said it would. If
anyone finds out anything else that works, let me know.
steve 01 Jun 2009, 05:47
why not rewrite the label and leave out the part that the FDA has a problem
with; it would have to be easier and much less expensive than the clinical
trials they were demanding. I've used it for years and loved it, it's a
shame it is no longer available.
Sandy 02 Jun 2009, 12:34
I have used Nik+aid for years and thought it was the best product around.
Styptik pencils left white marks but your product was not visible and
worked quickly. Please include me on your list if this product is ever
brought back on the market again. I agree with others that you should just
leave your claim of the label that the FDA wants you to prove. You should
let the FDA see the emails from all of us that love the product
Lynette 04 Jun 2009, 03:57
Please help me find a product called Nik + Aid roll on styptic. I've been
looking and asking every store I think should carry it. It's the best thing
since duct tape. Thanks
Lori 11 Jun 2009, 05:36
My mother's boyfriend has been looking for this product for over a year now
and has resorted to asking me to look for this product via the internet. He
also said this was the best product of it's nature. Here's hoping that it
makes a comeback because Clark is a VERY picky person (Like the character
on the t.v. program "Monk") so I know the product must be good.
Bill 15 Jun 2009, 08:18
I too am saddened by the discontinuance of Nik+Aid. Bummer! I suggest the
production of the product be taken to Mexico - where people ARE free (from
the FDA) and sell it over the internet. I'd pay multiples of the original
price. I've had my little bottle/applicator for over 15 years and am gonna
miss it. Please also let me know if the product makes a comeback.
E. Mitchell 19 Jun 2009, 05:08
Where can I purchase Nik+Aid roll-on styptic? Would prefer to visit a store

Thanks, E.M.

Bring back Nik-Aid! I have used the same little roll-on applicator of
Nik-Aid for years and it just recently ran dry. And I have shopped
everywhere and can't find it anywhere. Now I learn that the FDA has banned
it, and I have no idea why they did. It is really good stuff, it works
great, and I want it back!
alva l. mccardle 11 Aug 2009, 03:06

I too want more Nik+Aid. I've had my bottle for so long the cap cracked. I
agree that it is a great product.
Ray 28 Aug 2009, 07:09
I, like the rest of the folks that have written, have not been able to find
this wonderful product. I now see that it was pulled because of the FDA.
If and when will it come back on the market?

I too found Nik+Aid to be a very useful product and regret to hear that the
government has more or less forced it off the market. If it should find its
way back onto store shelves, I would certainly appreciate being notified,
as my bottle is nearly empty.

This truly was a great product. Mine finally ran out (it was beyond the
posted expiration, but no worries). For those of you still asking where to
buy, read the post in the middle of this page. The manufacturer had to stop
making due to an FDA requirement.
Mark 31 Oct 2010, 14:49
I can believe that OUR GOV'T Banned this?? It was a good product for those
little shave cuts etc. God forbid they ban all of these, food suppliments
that claim everything, endorsed by athletes, who influence young minds,oh
and lets not forget to mention the many politicians who are ""contributed
to"" to deregulate that industry because of the big money. Follow the
money

I just opened my last tube of Nik+Aid. I bought a couple years ago, they
last forever. Pity that the manufacturer had to stop making this great
product. I read the email by Mr Cohen at Leib Research. I was wondering why
they couldn't just change the packaging to read " stops bleeding" and leave
of the work "fast". Problem solved...the company can still sell it's
wonderful product...and maybe the FDA can spend more time inspecting
suspicious foods coming into our country. I think more people have gotten
sick from tainted vegetables from Mexico then have had a problem putting
Nik+Aid on a razor cut.
Paul Atkisson 17 Jun 2011, 20:47

I just used my Nik+Aid this morning and realized my supply is nearly
depleted. I tried to purchase it at Walgreens and CVS with no luck. Now I
know why. I too, have found it to be an outstanding product and know of
its ability to stop bleeding instantly. Too bad no one at the FDA had the
good sense to try it. Government! I feel that I should send a Sympathy
Card.
Steve Manfredi, M.D. 06 Aug 2011, 18:28
Could you please forward all of your e-mails regarding Nik+Aid to the FDA?
Nik+Aid is a great product. I have been using it for years and now my
supply is nearly depleted. I would love to buy it again, and I recommend it
to anyone who has nicked themselves while shaving. It works much better
than any other styptic on the market.

CSM Stephen M Webber, USA, Ret. 08 Sep 2011, 14:36
I just started searching for a replacement Nik+Aid roll on. Much to my
dismay I have found the product was discontinued. I have used this superb
product for many years. It was very helpful when in the field or on
deployments with the Army; small, compact, easy to carry along. I am sure
the FDA was well aware of the quality of this product. They most likely put
the stop to it because some American company paid them off, to stop the
Canadian product, in order to sell their own item. Government messes up
everything thats good. Follow Dr. Manfredi's advice above. Forward all
these e-mails to the FDA. To the FDA. I say this product definitely stops
bleeding fast.
Tommy 14 Dec 2011, 18:44
I, like all of the above, have also been searching for this product.
Believe me, IT IS BY FAR THE BEST and it does STOP BLEEDING FAST. Please bring it back ASAP. Thank you from a very dedicated user.
Billl 19 Feb 2012, 19:06
I wanted to let you know that I am very disappointed that your company is
no longer producing the Nik Aid product. I have been using this product
for a very long time. No other product is even close in comparasion. If
it ever should come back on the market again, I will again become one of
your loyal customers.
Darrell 29 May 2012, 05:50
I too have just sadly learned that Nik+Aid is no longer available. What an
incredible product. No wonder the FDA finds "something wrong with it"!!!
Keep fighting the FDA for their approval and bring it back as soon as possible.

dave 30 Sep 2012, 21:40
just what is their objection to this product. it has been in use for over
five year's with no apparent side effects. is money the problem. if so,you
have enough people in the USA who would buy stock in this product, so that
you can market it. what do you guy's think. are we suppose to pay FDA to
market this product.
