Urgent!!!!! I have a serious predicament at the moment. I live in Spain and
take Nuvelle. The chemist has told me that Nuvelle is not being made any
more. The pharmacologist went could not receive any advice on an
alternative drug. Surely there must be something, as all the thousands of
women taking Nuvelle cannot just stop. Please can you advise me, I just
have 7 days left. I have not had a hysterectomy and my Mum suffers from
serious osteoporosis. I am a nurse, age 54.
Thank you
Megan

Hi Megan, I am in the same predicament as you , Ihave been taking nuvelle
for 16 years (am 63) the doctor kept me on it because it suited me, and I
had a fall 8 years ago and broke my hip, though when tested my bone density
was only slightly low. I think its appalling it can be stopped just like
this, my current GP has put me on cyclo-progynova which I have been taking
now for 21 days, and let me tell you, dont I know!! Dizzy spells, night
sweats, i am not sure about this at all, regards Lesley

Hello Megan and Lesley, I'm another Nuvelle user who's just found out it's
been discontinued. I've been taking it - very happily - for 8 years (now
58).
I too am appalled at what appears to be such a sudden withdrawal of this
product. Looking around there doesn't seem to be an equivalent formulation
- cyclo-progynova is the nearest I've found, though Lesley's experience
doesn't look good.
I start my last (3-month) pack tomorrow so my GP is in for some heavy
questioning about where I go from here.

Hi Megan and Frances,
Just to update you, have been in touch with the manufacturers of Nuvelle,
ie Bayer Schering Pharma......no answers, or suggestions on a near
substitute for nuvelle were forthcoming! Looks like we really got duped
here!! Good luck, if you manage to find a near likeness to nuvelle, please
inform asap!

Hi i too have just changed to Nuvelle continuous but i feel it does not
suit me. A gynaecologist associate of mine has recommended Tridestra as
there is not so much progetserone. Worth a try.
