Hi I am a nurse working in Australia, who is also an asthmatic, and am
fully aware of the benefit of having treatment for asthma. I am currently
raising funds, equipment etc to donate to the Vila Central Hospital in
Vanuatu. They need a lot of help and one area that they need help is in
the area of having in date medicines in stock for their people. I am
asking you on their behalf if you can donate any asthma medications,
releivers, preventers, spacers, nebules and nebulising equipment and any
other respiratory medications including steriods, ie prednisolone and
dexamethasone etc to their pharmacy and emergency service. Other in date
medications of any sort for any condition is also most welcome.
The hosptial address is: Vila Central Hospital , PMB 9013, Port Vila, Vanuatu. You can contact the Hospital co-ordinator there aswell, her name is Leipokoa Matariki or email her directly on lmatariki@vanuatu.gov.vu or you may email me back with any advice, feedback and suggestions. Any donation is of help for these people and their hospital and any suggestion is welcome. Thanks for your time, best regards, Hayley Purcell

Hi!
I am a Physiotherapy technician for Brunel University. The teachers here use Placebo MDI Canisters more than 10/15 years old.At a preliminary enquiry I made about these I was told that they can be had free of charge. Is that true? If you can we have around 80/100 for students in respiratory sessions to practice with. If they are not free, could we have a quote. Thank you.

Hi
I want to produce vetolin cases in various materials and would like to discuss this with your company as soon as possible, I believe there is a market for plated covers that will eventually take the stigma out of using them in public for a lot of sufferers inc myself... Thanks Nigel

Volumatic Spacer for use with Seratide.
Could you please tell me if it is possible to dismantle the mouthpiece unit to clean it. I have tried Milton, Washing up liquid and soap but nothing will remove the white deposit in the interior of the mouthpiece. It seems wrong that any instrument sensitive to bacteria should be so difficult to clean. I have had 2 spacers in the last 2 years, and both have developed this white deposit after a short time. Your advice would be appreciated. Thomas Bell

Hi
I am a School Nurse and have 73 asthmatics in my school. Although we write the students name on the inhaler which they carry with them, we still get un-named inhalers turning up in lost property. Ordinary sticky labels peel off and fine permanent markers rub off. Is it possible to supply name labels with inhalers or have a place on the inhaler where the name can be written in ordinary pen and wont rub off? This would encourage parents to write the name on the inhaler when they are new and also go some way towards helping to prevent potentially dangerous situations from developing - you know what teenagers are like!!! many thanks.

Hi to all at Allen & Handbury,
I am a nurse working in General Practice. I have passed my asthma course last year and thoroughly enjoying treating patients with asthma and using your wide range of products with good results (when pt is using the devise properly!!) I look at these patients and often wonder what they have done with their lives before disease or illness struck them. So I have decided to try and make a difference to peoples lives by undertaking a 400km bike ride in Kenya, over sometimes hilly and undulating terrain. It is from 11-20th February 2012 (Group 4). The charity is 'actionforcharity' which raises money for womens cancer (ovarian, breast, cervical). The charity no. 268369. And the telephone no. for verification is 01234567891. I would be very grateful for any sponsorship donation. I could wear a T-shirt with your logo on when training. I have to raise £2,800 before the end of November. I would love for you to suport me in this great challenge. I also appreciate that you get approached all the time with this BUT this is dedicated to the mum's, nan's, teenager girls, aunties and stepmums (we lost ours last yr). Really look forward to hearing from you. p.s I am attending a meeting at Akbars restaurant re. Asthma in General Practice. Looking forward to the talk. Kind Regards Helen Baird

I am a regular user of the Seretide 250 Evohaler. About six months ago it
was recommended that I use a Volumatic Spacer Device. Both products have
proved beneficial to me. However, after about four months, it appears there
has been a small drift in dimensional standards of the inhaler body.
Normally, the inhaler engages in the Spacer Device with a positive 'click', ensuring that the whole becomes a unit during operation. Suddenly, upon receiving a new prescription, the inhaler refused to engage correctly in the Spacer Device, and had a tendency to simply come adrift during use. I assumed that this was an isolated incident, but each subsequent inhaler has performed in the same manner, so it is fortunate that I retained the original body and continue to use it, swapping the inhaler every time I start a new one. I do have a long background of engineering, so in expressing this concern, I am thinking of those users who perhaps are less adept than myself, and who might experience more difficulty in operating the device satisfactorily. I believe this to be worthy of investigation, as I both trust and rely on the excellence of your products.
